Attaching Camper to your Vehicle
Tong Metal Camper is designed specifically for 4-wheel drive, tray-back vehicles intended for off-road use. It is securely mounted to the vehicle tray using four M10 heavy-duty bolts and plates.

Note: This is the only approved attachment method for the Tong Camper, ensuring a strong, safe and stable connection between the camper and your vehicle.
Jack-off System
The Jack-off System is supplied with your camper. The camper will be attached directly to the tray of your vehicle with 4 x M10 bolts, nuts and washers. This is the only method of attachment suitable for use with the camper when mounted on a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
A jack-off-system enabled camper, allows you to multipurpose your vehicle. The camper’s floor is structurally reinforced to support the weight of the camper while free-standing. To remove the camper you follow these simple steps:
- The 4 x M10 bolt sets are removed.
- The jack supports are then inserted into the camper and secured.
- One jack is attached to each jack support.
- The camper is lifted off your vehicle tray using the jacks.
- The vehicle is then driven out from under the camper.
- The camper is lowered to the lowest point of travel on the jacks.
- The camper is then securely stored on the jacks until required.
- To remount the camper, you follow the removal procedure in reverse.
Jack off System Components:
- Jack-off camper with the structurally reinforced floor frame.
- 4x Manutec jacks (1500kg rated) and winding handles (compatible with an electric drill fitted with 19mm socket).

You can enhance the look of your canopy camper with the option to have it powder coated.
- Powder coat adds colour to your canopy camper to give it that individual touch. There is a range of colours available. For examples, please see the “Guide to Powder Coating”
- Powder coat seals the aluminium for easier cleaning and ultimately keeping your investment looking good for longer.
- Quality Preparation: Once manufactured and dry fitted, the project is disassembled into its components, sanded, acid washed, dipped in chromate.
- The project is then sprayed with the powder coating material, baked in an oven at 200 degrees, and then once cooled, reassembled and finished.
- Powder coat is hard-wearing and more UV fade resistant than other sprayed applications.

Built with Premium Marine-Grade Aluminium
Strength starts with the right materials. Our campers are constructed from Series 5000 marine-grade aluminium, known for its lightweight strength and corrosion resistance. Each unit typically weighs between 350 and 400 kg, providing durability without unnecessary weight.
Lasting Finish
Each camper is built around a welded extruded aluminium framework, wrapped in an aluminium outer skin. We offer our signature dimple plate finish for its combination of durability, corrosion resistance and lightweight performance.
While we recommend the dimple plate finish for its superior balance of strength and weight, customers may also select checker plate or mill finish options to suit their preference.
Vehicle Compatibility
The camper is designed for 4-wheel drive vehicles and is available in dual, space, or single cab configurations.
Note: Modification of the tray headboard might be required for other vehicles such as the Toyota Landcruiser (Please email/call to discuss).
