Ford Ranger Slide On Camper and Ute Tray Setup
Ford Ranger Slide On Camper & Ute Tray Setup
This Ford Ranger slide on camper setup combines a Tong Metal camper with a purpose-built aluminium ute tray, creating a compact and practical touring setup designed for two people.
Our slide on campers can be built to suit Ford Ranger Dual Cab, Extra Cab and Single Cab vehicles, with the camper and tray configured around the vehicle and how it will be used.
Unlike a rooftop tent, the camper provides easy access to the sleeping and living area without needing to climb up and down a ladder. Once inside, there is space to sit, eat, relax and sleep in a fully enclosed area.
For couples wanting to travel Australia without towing a caravan, this setup provides a compact alternative while still offering practical storage, water capacity and a comfortable living space.
When the trip is over, the camper can also be removed, leaving the Ford Ranger and aluminium ute tray available for everyday use.
Designed for Two-Person Touring
Inside this Ford Ranger slide on camper, the seating is arranged opposite each other, creating a comfortable space for two people to sit together, eat, relax or plan the next part of the trip.
The raised queen-size sleeping area provides a dedicated bed without needing to set up a rooftop tent each night. Easy internal access also avoids climbing a rooftop tent ladder every time you get in or out of bed.
The layout incorporates storage, a slide-out kitchen and onboard water, helping keep the main living area organised while still providing the essentials for longer trips.
Compact on the Road, Spacious at Camp
The camper features Tong Metal’s twin-roof design, allowing the roof to fold down into a more compact profile while travelling.
Once set up at camp, the roof opens to provide additional headroom and a more spacious interior.
Six screened windows and screen doors provide ventilation throughout the camper while helping keep insects outside, making it easier to open the camper up in warmer conditions.
Combined with its marine-grade aluminium construction, the camper provides a strong and practical touring setup without unnecessary bulk.
Why Pair a Slide On Camper With an Aluminium Ute Tray?
Pairing a Ford Ranger slide on camper with a purpose-built aluminium ute tray creates useful storage space underneath and around the camper.
Under-tray toolboxes provide dedicated external storage for recovery gear, tools and camping equipment, while a rear trundle drawer makes use of otherwise unused space underneath the tray.
The tray can also incorporate additional water storage, including a 15-litre frame water tank and 30-litre headboard water tank, supplementing the camper’s onboard water capacity.
This keeps bulky or dirty equipment outside the main living area while leaving more room inside the camper for everyday touring essentials.
Together, the aluminium tray and removable camper create a practical Ford Ranger touring system for couples wanting storage, water capacity and an enclosed living space without towing a caravan.
